I have spent a few days at Rural Roosts in Lincs. Beautiful lodges with disabled access. Not disabled friendly bathrooms but with help I can manage a walk in shower. The lodges are stunning. My Vita Lite broke down before we left and TGA came through with a Whill C2 on loan whilst mine is in for repair. It’s my first time in a power chair and I was surprised how easily I took to the joystick control as I’m starting to struggle with tillers.
The little Whill is not an off road model but it coped with gravel paths and grass and climbed some very steep gradients. This new model C2 has had improvements made including rear suspension and I found it very comfortable. It’s not something I will go for as I need something capable of rougher terrain but it proved invaluable this week and I must admit I loved this chair. I’d love to own one for the shops if only my budget allowed for multiple chairs.
I managed to fish a couple of times on one of the two lakes here and banked a few nice Bream. My Stepdad also had some nice Bream and a Carp. The fish are all immaculate and look like they’ve never been caught. The lake settings are truly stunning. No noise from roads just bird song and the wind through the trees.
My Mum has a dog and we chose this place as it’s dog friendly with many marked walks and even an area to let them off lead. Also there were plenty of dog bins. Fishing is included for the residents and the lakes are really friendly with gravel paths and concrete or wooden platforms. If you like a little luxury, these lodges fit the bill and some even have hot tubs.
Will I return to Rural Roosts? You bet I will as the atmosphere is magic.
